Maintenance of the rolling mill is indispensable!

As a widely used mechanical equipment for rolling steel, the rolling mill requires careful daily maintenance to ensure smooth operation and to prevent a significant reduction in its lifespan due to inadequate care. So, how should the daily maintenance of the rolling mill be carried out?

Every day, inspect the rolling mill for any oil, water, or gas leaks, as well as signs of overheating in the components. Minimize losses caused by improper equipment operation or delayed maintenance. When lifting the rubber rolls, it is necessary to take maintenance measures such as checking chains, ropes, and the end of the roll surface.

The maintenance procedures for the rolling mill involve several steps. The thickness automatic control system on the rolling mill must strictly follow the operating procedures and methods. Perform gearbox maintenance by cleaning it at least once every quarter. Pay special attention to the safe operation of the rolling equipment when feeding steel into the rolls at the limit position. Be cautious to avoid hands being pressed or fed together with the steel. When inspecting with a crane, be careful not to collide with the machine.

All personnel involved in the rolling operation should coordinate with each other and follow the instructions of the production line leader. Depending on the different process requirements for rolling water and immersion treatment liquids, do not start the machine without signals, and use elastic materials (such as multiple layers of fabric, waste yarn bundles, thick wooden boards) to fill the parts where the roll shafts come into contact. In the rolling process, the roller and the race are in line contact or under-line contact, with a large radial load-bearing capacity, suitable for bearing heavy loads and impact loads.

If irregular noises are detected, such as the rolling mill not making contact after the steel bar is broken, and there is a risk of sudden release of the load causing an impact, immediately stop the machine for inspection. Maintenance can only be carried out after the rolling production line has come to a complete stop. After the main drive motor is shut down, the lifting of the upper and lower rolls can be performed. During cleaning, first, stop the machine in a hot state, open the oil drain plug on the side of the gearbox, and flip the rolls for dumping and resetting the upper roll.
