To reduce frictional forces, controlling the rolling temperature is crucial. Lubricating cooling media can be introduced between the contact surfaces of the rolls and the workpiece.

With excellent lubrication, the rolling mill smoothly completes the rolling operation. Afterward, proper shutdown procedures must be followed for maintenance. After completing the operation, the machine should be turned off, paying attention to the shutdown sequence. Additionally, filtering operations need to be stopped. Subsequently, due to the significant forces applied during rolling mill operation, which can lead to wear over time, comprehensive maintenance is required to ensure the machine's normal and efficient operation. Damaged parts should be promptly replaced to prepare for the next operation.
